Résumé
Le livre The coddling of the American mind, par Greg Lukianoff et Jonathan Haidt, a généré beaucoup d’intérêt depuis sa sortie. Nous en proposons une recension critique qui situe d’abord l’ouvrage dans son contexte sociopolitique, puis en résume les idées centrales. Nous présentons ensuite une critique qui s’est concentrée sur les choix et fondements théoriques qui sous-tendent l’ouvrage, puis en évaluons une des propositions centrales, celle d’instaurer un système de discrimination positive envers les professeur⋅e⋅s ayant un alignement politique conservateur. Enfin, nous revenons sur les aspects du livre que nous avons trouvés intéressants et discutons de son utilisation potentielle en classe.

Abstract
The coddling of the American mind, by Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt, has generated a lot of interest since its release. We offer a critical review that first places the book in its socio-political context and then summarizes its central ideas. We then present a critique that focuses on the underlying theoretical choices and foundations of the book, to evaluate one of its central propositions, which would be to establish a system of affirmative action for conservative professors. Finally, we outline the aspects of the book that we found interesting and discuss its potential use in the classroom.

El libro The coddling of the American mind, por Greg Lukianoff y Jonathan Haidt, ha generado mucho interés desde su publicación. Proponemos una revisión crítica de éste que, en primer lugar, sitúa la obra en su contexto sociopolítico y, posteriormente, resume las ideas centrales. A continuación, presentamos una crítica que se concentra sobre las elecciones y fundamentos teóricos subyacentes a la obra, lo que nos lleva a evaluar una de sus proposiciones centrales: instaurar un sistema de discriminación positiva hacia los profesores que tienen un alineamiento político conservador. Finalmente, volvemos sobre los aspectos del libro que nos parecen interesantes, discutiendo su utilización potencial en clase.
