Resumen
Este ensayo analiza las ideologías económicas que dieron forma a una de las primeras representaciones literarias sobre los Territorios Españoles del Golfo de Guinea, Tres años en Fernando Póo (1871) de José Muñoz y Gaviria. El artículo explora los modelos de colonización que presenta la obra, sosteniendo que la apuesta del autor por una economía de plantación condiciona la representación del paisaje y de las comunidades de africanos que se iban a reclutar como trabajadores asalariados. La producción textual española sobre esta región es un corpus poco estudiado, pero de gran valor para destacar el rol de la literatura en la creación de imaginarios culturales y ficciones económicas.

Abstract
This essay analyzes the economic ideologies that shaped one of the first literary representations of the Spanish Territories of the Gulf of Guinea, Tres años en Fernando Póo (1871) by José Muñoz y Gaviria. The article explores the models of colonization depicted to argue that the author’s commitment to a plantation economy conditions the representation of the landscape and of the African communities that would be recruited as indentured workers. The Spanish literary production on this region is a corpus that has received limited attention but is of great value to highlight the role of literature in the creation of cultural imaginaries and economic fictions.
