Abstract
This paper provides an overview of mobile storytelling applications developed for and by Indigenous communities. It identifies and examines a variety of mobile applications to support Indigenous cultural and linguistic heritage. These applications include those reported in the literature as well as those available in application stores. The review provides a detailed overview of the mobile application interface functions and features, including recording capabilities, language-related features, accessibility, content categorization, and geolocation. Based on the review, this paper provides a set of design recommendations for developing mobile applications for Indigenous communities, including for Indigenous protocols, voices, and community needs.

Résumé
Cet article propose un aperçu des applications mobiles de narration développées pour et par des communautés autochtones. Il identifie et analyse diverses applications mobiles visant à soutenir le patrimoine culturel et linguistique autochtone. Ces applications comprennent celles décrites dans la littérature ainsi que celles disponibles dans les boutiques d’applications. La recension offre une vue détaillée des fonctions et caractéristiques des interfaces mobiles, notamment les capacités d’enregistrement, les fonctionnalités liées aux langues, l’accessibilité, la catégorisation du contenu et la géolocalisation. À partir de cette analyse, l’article présente un ensemble de recommandations de conception pour le développement d’applications mobiles destinées aux communautés autochtones, en tenant compte des protocoles autochtones, des voix communautaires et des besoins locaux.
