Résumé
Cet article analyse, suivant une approche thématique, Gibier d’élevage, roman du lauréat du Prix Nobel de littérature de 1994, le Japonais Kenzaburô Ôé. Inscrit dans la mémoire de la guerre du Pacifique, ce puissant texte publié en 1958 en japonais et en 1982 pour la version française, amène le lecteur à une réflexion sur les fruits amers de la guerre en mettant en scène un prisonnier de guerre noir. Le récit qui évolue entre les postulations paradoxales qu’inspire la rencontre de l’Autre est assumé par un jeune narrateur dont les rapports avec l’étranger, conjugués au dénouement de l’intrigue, appellent les êtres humains à cesser de se comporter en loups envers leurs semblables, et ce quelles que soient les spécificités individuelles qui les différencient. C’est ce projet artistique que l’article entend faire ressortir à l’aide d’une lecture détaillée de nature à rendre compte de la quintessence du roman dans ce qui fait sa scriptibilité.

Abstract
This article analyzes, using a thematic approach, Gibier d’élevage, a novel by the 1994 Nobel Prize laureate in literature, the Japanese author Kanzaburô Ôé. Rooted in the memory of the Pacific War, this powerful text, published in 1958 in Japanese and in 1982 in French, prompts the reader to reflect on the bitter fruits of war by featuring a Black prisoner of war. The story, which unfolds amidst the paradoxical implications of the encounter with the other, and is narrated by a young man whose interactions with the stranger, combined with the intrigue’s conclusion, calls upon human beings to cease behaving like wolves toward their fellow human beings, and regardless of their individual differences. The article seeks to highlight this artistic project by submitting the novel to a close reading that captures its essence as a work of literature.
