L’objectif de ce texte est, d’une part, de proposer une façon de lever la dualité ou la contradiction mise en évidence par de nombreux commentateurs dans la théorie hayékienne de l’évolution et, d’autre part, de souligner les difficultés rencontrées par Hayek dans sa tentative d’endogénéiser la formation des règles constitutives de l’ordre spontané. L’évolutionnisme n’est ainsi pas un mode d’explication pertinente de la transformation des ordres sociaux. Nous concluons ensuite sur l’actualité théorique de la conception hayékienne de l’action humaine comme gouvernée par des « schèmes abstraits ».
Abstract
The aim of this text is first to propose a way to resolve the duality or the contradiction in Hayek’s evolutionary theory as outlined by many commentators. Secondly we aim to underline the major problems that Hayek comes up against in his attempt to develop an endogeneous specification of the rules of just conduct which govern human interactions and induce a spontaneous social order. As we shall see, evolutionism is not a relevant method to explain the transformation of social order. Nonetheless, we conclude that Hayek’s conception of human action as governed by “abstract patterns” retains a certain interest.
