Abstract
This practical triage exercise presents a fictional clinical case illustrating the application of the 2024 updates to the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS). The revision was conducted jointly by the National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA) and the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP). Based on a clinical scenario involving an individual presenting with signs and symptoms of a wake-up stroke, this exercise aims to review the clinical assessment process and prioritization according to the updated recommendations for primary and complaint-specific modifiers within the CTAS.
