Abstract
The purpose of this article is to describe the mental health of Outaouais adolescents likely to have been exposed to a series of natural disasters in the context of the pandemic. The results of the study, which involved 1,228 teenagers, show that one-third were experiencing depression and suicidal thoughts. One in four had moderate or severe anxiety, as well as thoughts of self-harm. These problems were significantly more prevalent in young people with previous exposure to natural disasters.
