Abstract
This article describes a human-AI codesign process that led to the development and deployment of HybridIA, a conversational agent based on a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture enabling users to query the corpus of the Revue hybride de l’éducation (RHÉ). The process, conducted in collaboration between the journal’s editor-in-chief and the Claude language model (Anthropic), was guided by epistemic, ethical, and scientific principles. The article describes the stages of the process, the guiding principles, the technological choices and their alternatives, and proposes an analysis of the collaboration through Engeström’s activity theory. Reflexive observations suggest that the key competency in this type of codesign is less technical than epistemic.
