Résumé
Comment écrire l'histoire d'un événement qui exclut celui qui en témoigne ? Cet article cherche une réponse à cette question en interrogeant la dimension rythmique et non cognitive du tropisme dans les premiers textes de Nathalie Sarraute. En faisant un rapprochement entre le réel lacanien (« ce qui revient à la même place ») et la notion de rythme en tant que forme suggérée par Émile Benveniste, cet article cerne la forme qu'adopte l'histoire sarrautienne, et montre comment le rythme du réel enchâsse Sarraute dans une histoire littéraire percutante.
Abstract
How do you write the history of an event that excludes its witness? The present article seeks to answer this question by investigating the rhythmic and noncognitive dimensions of tropism in the early writings of Nathalie Sarraute. By bringing together Lacan's concept of the real ("thatwhich comes back to the same place") with Benveniste's notion of rhythm as form, this article examines the shape Sarraute's works adopt, and shows how the rhythm of the real inscribes her works within literary history.
