Résumé
Cet article part de l’intérêt que l’on constate au Brésil aujourd’hui pour les auteurs afro-descendants, intérêt qui a permis de mettre en valeur, entre autres romans, ceux de Conceição Evaristo et Ana Maria Gonçalves, qui sont particulièrement importants. En outre, il correspond au souhait formulé par Eduardo de Assis Duarte, dans la conclusion de ses quatre volumes sur la littérature brésilienne des écrivains afro-descendants, que s’instaure une tradition critique consacrée à ce domaine. Dans toutes ces oeuvres transparaissent l’influence d’une expérience transocéanique en même temps que l’importance des termes africains dans la langue brésilienne, toutes deux y jouant un rôle crucial.
Abstract
This article focuses on the interest which has grown in Brazil for authors of African descent over the past decades, and which has resulted in the publication of, among other texts, two major novels written respectively by Conceição Evaristo and Ana Maria Gonçalves. It also answers the wish with which Eduardo de Assis Duarte concluded the four volumes he edited on Brazilian literature by writers of African descent, when he laid the foundation for and called for the development of a critical tradition in this field of studies. In all these contributions, the influence of the transoceanic experience as well as the role played by the legacy of African words in the Brazilian language clearly stand out as crucial elements calling for closer analysis.
