Résumé
Cet article part de la conviction que les objets traduisent les émotions par leur matérialité, à travers nos cinq sens et plus. Dans tout exil, les objets émotionnels déplacés, chargés de significations et de sentiments, racontent de nombreuses histoires. Parmi tous les objets possibles emportés par les exilés au cours de leur voyage, je me concentrerai sur les objets liés à la nourriture. La nourriture prend des significations différentes selon les contextes. Sa signification originelle dans le pays d’origine se transforme en arrivant dans un nouvel environnement. Mon point de départ théorique mêlera deux disciplines, l’anthropologie des sens et les études de traduction, pour interroger ce qu’il se passe lorsque la nourriture entreprend un voyage d’exil. J’illustrerai toutes ces idées à l’aide d’exemples tirés des écrits des auteures migrantes Najat El Hachmi, Jhumpa Lahiri et Pat Mora.

Abstract
This article stems from the conviction that objects translate emotions through their materiality and through our five senses and more. In any exile, displaced emotional objects, laden with meanings and sentiments, tell their own stories. Of the objects that exiled people take with them on their journey, this article focuses on objects related to food. Food can have different meanings across contexts. Its original meaning in the home country becomes transformed when it travels to a new environment. Drawing on the anthropology of the senses and translation studies, this article examines what occurs when food embarks on a journey of exile. I will illustrate all these ideas with examples taken from the writings of migrant authors Najat El Hachmi, Jhumpa Lahiri, and Pat Mora.

Este artículo parte de la convicción de que los objetos traducen las emociones gracias a su materialidad, a través de nuestros cinco sentidos y más. En todo exilio, los objetos emocionales cargados de significados y de sentimientos, narran muchas historias. Entre todos los objetos posible que aportan consigo los exiliados en su periplo, me voy a concentrar sobre los objetos ligados a la comida. La comida adquiere significados diferentes según los contextos. Su significado original en el país de origen se transforma al llegar a un nuevo entorno. Mi punto de partida teórico combinara dos disciplinas: la antropología sensorial y los estudios de traducción, con el fin de investigar lo que sucede cuando la comida inicia el viaje del exilio. Ilustraré todas estas ideas con el apoyo de ejemplos provenientes de las autoras migrantes Najat El Hachmi, Jhumpa Lahiri y Pat Mora.
