La psychothérapie psychologique en Suisse vers la transparence et la qualité Psychological Psychotherapy in Switzerland: Moving towards Transparency and Quality

Résumé

L’article donne un aperçu de la psychothérapie psychologique en Suisse. Nous décrivons le statut juridique des psychologues-psychothérapeutes, leur position et leur rôle au sein du système de santé suisse, le contexte professionnel dans lequel ils pratiquent, le type de formation en psychothérapie, les différents modèles d’emploi des psychologues-psychothérapeutes, ainsi que la situation de remboursement des séances de psychothérapie psychologique, qui est actuellement insuffisant. Le remboursement par l’assurance maladie obligatoire est mis en évidence comme étant le plus important défi auquel les psychologues-psychothérapeutes sont confrontés actuellement en Suisse, et ce, pour être pleinement reconnus en tant que fournisseurs indépendants de psychothérapie.

Abstract

The article gives an overview of psychological psychotherapy in Switzerland. We describe the legal status of psychological psychotherapists, their position and role within the Swiss health-care system, the professional context they practice in, the format of psychotherapy training, various employment models of psychological psychotherapists, as well as the currently insufficient reimbursement situation of psychological psychotherapy. Reimbursement by mandatory health insurance is highlighted as the most important current challenge psychological psychotherapists face in Switzerland, on their way to be fully acknowledged as independent providers of psychotherapy.
