L'article décrit l'histoire, les objectifs et le fonctionnement de la Clinique St-Jacques. Cette clinique a été fondée 12 ans auparavant en vue de satisfaire les besoins de santé d'une population socioéconomiquement défavorisée. Ayant pour but de servir le peuple, elle cherche à offrir gratuitement tous les soins médicaux possibles et est impliquée dans la lutte pour l'amélioration des conditions de vie des travailleurs. La clinique est une coopérative et les services sont gratuits, excepté pour les soins dentaires et psychologiques pour lesquels les membres paient selon leurs moyens. Dans les soins de santé mentale, les services ne sont pas différents qu'ailleurs mais les priorités le sont. Aussi, il faut noter que les thérapeutes sont d'orientation analytique lacanienne.

SUMMARY

This article describes the history, objectives and functioning of the St. Jacques Clinic. This clinic was founded twelve years ago in order to meet the health needs of a lower socioeconomic population. Having for its purpose to serve the people, it seeks to offer, free of charge, all medical care possible and is involved in the fight to improve the living conditions of the workers. The clinic is a cooperative and the services are all free except for dental and psychological care for which the members pay by a selection system. In mental health care, the services are no different than anywhere else but the priorities are. Also, it is to be noted that the therapists are of lacanian analytic orientation.
