Résumé
La stratégie militaire de la Chine n’est pas « asymétrique », sa doctrine et sa stratégie militaires étant les mêmes que celles de ses principaux rivaux. La raison principale de cette fausse perception est la conception particulière qu’a la Chine de la puissance, qu’elle voit comme des « stratégies ». Se basant sur cette conception particulière, la Chine concentre ses ressources sur le développement de « capacités asymétriques ». Elle peut ainsi contrôler certains secteurs clés de l’opération militaire dans une « guerre locale dans des conditions d’informatisation », neutralisant la supériorité de ses rivaux par le recours à la dissuasion ou à la destruction des capacités de combat de l’adversaire. Cette asymétrie opérationnelle guide ses efforts de modernisation militaire.

Abstract
Contrary to numerous reports, China’s military strategy is not “asymmetric” because China’s military doctrine and strategy are the same as those of its major rivals. The main reason of this misperception is China’s unique conception of power as “strategies”. Based on its unique conception of power, China concentrates its limited resources on developing “asymmetric capabilities” so that it can control certain “key areas” of the military operation in a “local war under conditions of informatization”, neutralizing the conventional military advantages of its rivals to win a limited conflict either by deterring, denying or destroying the adversary’s war-fighting capabilities. This operational asymmetry guides China’s efforts of military modernization.
