Résumé

L’intérêt croissant pour les animaux non humains est stimulé par les avancées de la biotechnologie et une conscience accrue de la nécessité de préserver la biodiversité ; cependant cette fascination pour les créatures non humaines remonte à loin. Explorer la représentation et l’interprétation du monde animal à travers les époques permet de mieux comprendre notre relation avec les autres formes de vie et d’apprécier la richesse des oeuvres célébrant le règne animal. Les motifs animaux, chargés de significations symboliques, offrent un terrain d’étude complexe où les schémas récurrents sont moins évidents. Ce volume explore ces récurrences pertinentes et identifie les schémas narratifs qui façonnent ces représentations animales, permettant non seulement une meilleure compréhension des textes narratifs, mais aussi de la relation entre les humains et les animaux.

Abstract

The growing interest in non-human animals is driven by advancements in biotechnology and an increased awareness of the importance of preserving biodiversity. This fascination with non-human creatures dates back far in history. Exploring the representation and interpretation of the animal world throughout different epochs helps us better understand our relationship with other forms of life and appreciate the richness of works celebrating the animal kingdom. Animal motifs, laden with symbolic meanings, provide a complex field of study where recurring patterns are less evident. This volume explores these relevant recurrences and identifies the narrative patterns that shape these animal representations, enabling a deeper understanding of the relationship between humans and animals.
