Résumé
Cet article analyse des planches d’une bande dessinée (Le rêve de Charlot), des caricatures et des chroniques publiées dans La Presse par Albéric Bourgeois entre 1905 et 1957. En tenant compte des théories sur la parodie et la satire de Linda Hutcheon, Sophie Duval et Marc Martinez, nous verrons que ces oeuvres présentent une relecture parodique, parfois critique, d’événements fondateurs tels que la découverte de l’Amérique et l’implantation de la colonie de la Nouvelle-France. Il sera aussi possible de constater que ces dessins et chroniques permettent à Bourgeois de pasticher et de commenter le rôle de l’historien et la discipline de l’histoire. Pour ce faire, Bourgeois use notamment de l’humour et de la parodie, tout en ponctuant ses oeuvres d’anachronismes et de réflexions satiriques.

Abstract
This article analyzes the storyboards of a comic strip (Le rêve de Charlot) as well as cartoons and columns published in La Presse by Albéric Bourgeois between 1905 and 1957. With reference to the theories on parody and satire by Linda Hutcheon, Sophie Duval and Marc Martinez, we shall see that these works present a parodic and sometimes critical re-reading of key events in the founding of North America, such as the discovery of America and the establishment of the colony of New France. In addition, these drawings and columns enable Bourgeois to comment on the role of the historian and the discipline of history, namely through humour, parody and satirical anachronisms and reflections.
