Resumen
Priorizando las estrategias retóricas utilizadas por el narrador de “El fardo” de Darío, este artículo indaga en las implicaciones sociales, artísticas y de clase del movimiento frente a la quietud. La inmovilidad se presenta inicialmente como un atributo positivo señalando el cese del movimiento fatigoso tras la jornada laboral del protagonista; por lo tanto, promueve las condiciones tranquilas y casi oníricas que son propicias para la narración y el desenlace del cuento. No obstante, las frecuentes referencias a la inmovilidad y a la ciclicidad también ofrecen un comentario agrio sobre la violencia social y la naturaleza opresiva de los sistemas capitalistas, prolépticamente anunciando la tragedia que rige tanto el marco narrativo como el argumento.

Abstract
Prioritizing the rhetorical strategies used by the narrator of Darío’s “El fardo,” this article investigates the social, artistic, and class-related implications of movement versus stillness. Immobility is initially presented as a positive attribute signaling the cessation of laborious movement at the end of the protagonist’s workday; it thus promotes the relaxed, quasi-oneiric conditions propitious to narration and the denouement of the story. However, frequent references to immobility and troublesome instances of cyclicity also offer an acerbic commentary on social violence and the oppressive nature of capitalistic systems, proleptically announcing the tragedy governing both frame narrative and plot.
