Résumé
L’auteur traite des fondements historiques et contemporains d’une politique linguistique nationale à Cuba. Il examine les deux phases de l’élaboration de cette politique ainsi que les enjeux culturels du projet dans les contextes cubain et hispanophone. Les effets éventuels de ce projet se feront sentir dans plusieurs domaines dont l’éducation nationale, la traduction, la gestion de la terminologie et la cohésion linguistique et culturelle du monde hispanophone.
Abstract
The author discusses the historic and contemporary foundations of a national linguistic policy in Cuba. He examines the two-step process of policy formulation as well as the cultural implications of this project in the Cuban and larger Spanish-speaking contexts. The possible effects of this project will be felt in several areas including national education, translation, terminology management and the linguistic and cultural cohesion of the Spanish-speaking world.
