Abstract
Our research aims to study the choice and the dynamic of strategic orientation (SO) in the context of International Joint Ventures (IJV) operating in an uncertain environment. Taking the example of the advent of the Arab Spring, we conducted a longitudinal study of six cases of IJV between Tunisian and multinational SMEs over the period 2010-2016. We highlight that the SO must not be fixed and has to be adapted to the conditions of the external environment. We also show that the choice, the dynamic and the results of the strategic orientation are dependent on the internal contingency factors related to the collaborative context of the IJV.
