Résumé
Le retour du protectionnisme sur la scène internationale provoque son lot d’inquiétudes. Même si l’administration de Donald Trump s’est déjà retirée du Partenariat transpacifique et qu’elle a imposé la renégociation d’accords commerciaux comme l’Aléna, la tendance vers une multiplication des négociations commerciales est toujours palpable. À titre d’exemple, les onze pays restants du ptp viennent de conclure le Partenariat transpacifique progressiste et global (ptpgp). La question qui reste en suspens est : combien de temps les États-Unis accepteront-ils de rester sur la touche ?

Abstract
The return of protectionism on the international scene is a cause for concern. Yet even though the Trump administration has already withdrawn from the Trans-Pacific Partnership and forced the reopening of trade agreements such as Nafta, the trend toward more trade negotiations is still strong. For example, the eleven remaining tpp countries recently signed the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (cptpp). The question that remains is : How long will the United States be content to stand on the sidelines ?

Resumen
La vuelta del proteccionismo en la escena internacional provoca inquietudes. Aun cuando la administración de Donald Trump ya se retiró del Tratado de Asociación Transpacífico (tpp) y que impuso la renegociación de acuerdos comerciales como el tlcan, la tendencia hacia una multiplicación de las negociaciones comerciales sigue siendo palpable. A título de ejemplo, los once países restantes del tpp acaban de firmar el Tratado Integral y Progresista de Asociación Transpacífico (cptpp). La pregunta que queda en suspenso es ¿por cuánto tiempo Estados Unidos aceptará permanecer al margen ?
