Cette nouvelle chronique de CIRCUIT se fait l’écho de quatre ouvrages révélateurs des discussions d’aujourd’hui : débat entre les partisans théoriques et pratiques d’un retour à la tonalité (Duteurtre, Lelong) et défenseurs de l’écriture atonale (Nattiez, Gonneville), débat entre tenants de la remise en question postmoderne de la modernité (Rea) et défenseurs du grand oeuvre boulézien (Breatnach).

Abstract

This new column in CIRCUIT highlights four works that deal with contemporary issues: the debate between the theoretical and practical partisans of a return to tonality (Duteurtre and Lelong) and those who defend atonality (Nattiez, Gonneville); the debate between the tenets of a postmodern inquiry into modernity (Rea) and the defenders of the greater accomplishments of Boulez (Breatnach).
