Résumé
La ségrégation urbaine en France, tout comme aux États-Unis, est une problématique qui, bien souvent, est approchée d’un point de vue sociologique, sous les angles et thématiques usuels de son entendement : exclusion sociale, délinquance juvénile, chômage et précarité socioéconomique des ménages, intégration, etc. Il semble par contre que la part du lieu, la réalité géographique et la condition habitante particulière au grand ensemble aient été omises dans la compréhension de la nature profonde de cette situation. Dès lors, cet article s’attache à révéler, par le truchement de l’analyse de contenu du rap français, l’expérience intime et sensible des modalités d’habiter permises dans les cités HLM.

Abstract
Urban segregation in France, as in the United States, is an issue usually framed in sociological terms, and so approached through established perspectives and themes like social exclusion, juvenile delinquency, unemployment, socio-economic instability in households, integration, etc. Concepts such as a sense of place, specific geographical realities and the particular status of residents in French social housing seem to have been overlooked in analyses of the fundamentals of this situation. In response to this deficiency, this article proposes a content analysis of the lyrics used by French rappers, as a means to illustrate the closeness and sensitivity attained inside social housing suburbs in France.
