Bakhtine, Proust et la polyphonie romanesque chez Dostoïevski

Résumé

Mikhaïl Bakthine, le grand théoricien russe du roman, n’eut pas la possibilité - pour des raisons conjoncturelles - d’analyser en profondeur l’œuvre de Marcel Proust. Dans cet article, rédigé pour le colloque « Bakhtine / Proust, regards croisés », organisé par Tatiana Victoroff et Luc Fraisse à l’Institut Gorki de Moscou (octobre 2019), il est question de ce manquement et de ses répercussions sur l’histoire de la littérature, notamment sur l’évolution des genres littéraires entre le roman polyphonique de Dostoïevski et l’intertexte, genre post-romanesque dont le développement implique la reconnaissance de À la recherche du temps perdu en tant que genre narratif intermédiaire, l’autofiction.

Abstract

Mikhail Bakthin, the great Russian theoretician of the novel, did not have the opportunity - for short-term reasons - to analyze in depth the work of Marcel Proust. In this article, written as a contribution to the colloquium “Bakhtine / Proust, glances crossed”, organized by Tatiana Victoroff and Luc Fraisse at the Gorky Institute of Moscow (October 2019), it is a question of this failure and its repercussions on the history of literature, especially for the evolution of literary genres between Dostoievsky’s polyphonic novel and the intertexte, post-novel genre whose development implies the recognition of In Search of Lost Time as an intermediate narrative genre, the autofiction.
