La profession de technicien ambulancier paramédic (ci-nommé après paramédic) est hautement exigeante au niveau psychologique (Nirel et al., 2008; Sterud et al., 2006) ce qui a été exacerbé par le passage de la pandémie Covid-19 (Patel et al., 2023). L’objectif du présent article vise à décrire un portrait initial en matière de santé mentale des paramédics québécois en contexte post-pandémie à l’aide de questionnaires validés portant sur l’épuisement professionnel, la dépression, l’anxiété et le trouble de stress post-traumatique. Les résultats démontrent que chacun des éléments évalués s’avère présent chez les paramédics, et ce, dans une proportion plus élevée comparativement à la population en général.

Abstract
The profession of emergency medical technician (hereinafter referred to as paramedic) is highly demanding psychologically (Nirel et al., 2008; Sterud et al., 2006), which has been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic (Patel et al., 2023). The objective of this article is to describe an initial portrait of the mental health of Quebec paramedics in a post-pandemic context using validated questionnaires on burnout, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder. The results demonstrate that each of the elements assessed is present among paramedics, and in a higher proportion compared to the general population.
