Partant d’un corpus de 251 études, nous offrons dans ce texte un bilan de la production en histoire religieuse acadienne. Des contributions « traditionalistes » d’avant l’institutionnalisation des études acadiennes aux contributions de la nouvelle sensibilité historiographique, en passant par celles tourant autour du paradigme du contrôle social, du concept de religion populaire et des enjeux mémoriels et patrimoniaux, la mise en ordre des problématiques, thèses et débats historiographiques nous mène à classer en huit tendances l’ensemble de la production en histoire religieuse de l’Acadie contemporaine et à identifier quelques chantiers porteurs.
Résumé
Based on a corpus of 251 studies, we offer in this text an historiographical review of the production in Acadian religious history. From the ‘traditionalist’ contributions preceding the institutionalization of Acadian studies to those of the new historiographical sensitivity, including works revolving around the paradigm of social control, the concept of popular religion and those concerning memorial and heritage issues, the organisation of the topics, theses and debates lead us to classify the production into eight trends and to identify some promising fields of investigation.
