Les recherches récentes démontrent que l’activité physique (AP) constitue un outil intéressant et accessible pour améliorer la régulation émotionnelle des adolescents et des adolescentes. Les bénéfices optimaux s’obtiennent avec des interventions de 10 à 12 semaines incluant trois à cinq séances hebdomadaires de 20 à 45 minutes à intensité modérée. En plus des périodes en éducation physique et à la santé, l’ajout quotidien d’AP via des pauses actives, des classes flexibles et l’intégration curriculaire a le potentiel d’améliorer significativement le climat de classe, l’attention et les performances scolaires. Cet article expose brièvement les effets et les mécanismes de l’AP. Il présente les conditions d’efficacité et propose des idées d’intégration de l’AP dans le quotidien des personnes enseignantes.
