Résumé

Psychanalyse et théologie s’entretiennent du rapport à l’Autre, posé comme condition de possibilité de parole et de vérité. Deux regards différents que l’auteur tente de cerner à même leur étrangeté réciproque. L’Autre de la psychanalyse comme instance logique, lieu vide et irréductible se trouve de connivence avec l’impossible du réel, c’est-à-dire un réel jamais rencontré autrement que par un rapport de fiction. Si l’Autre révèle le sujet comme assujetti au langage, il est aussi ouverture à sa dimension éthique comme sujet du désir. À son tour, l’Autre de la théologie s’inscrit comme l’irréductible d’un réel qui échappe. L'acte de foi cependant y rencontre le désir pour prendre le risque de figurer cet Autre, de le faire advenir au langage, tout en reconnaissant le caractère aléatoire des consistances imaginaires qu'il peut en produire. Il se met alors à l'écoute de ce qu'il peut en entendre pour y fonder l'éthique de ses productions humaines.

Abstract

Both theology and psychoanalysis deal with the Other as a condition for the speech act and the truth. The autor intends to describe their strangeness as well as their closeness, in the move of their specific logic. From a psychoanalytic point of view, the Other represents a logical locus, irreducible and empty, in connivance with the impossibility of the real. Nobody can meet the Other but as a representation, as a figure which takes place in a fantasmatic construction. As such, the Other unveils the desire of the subject. This subject, however, is subjected to language, symbolic order and culture, as well as committed to desire and acts of creation. From a theological point of view, the Other also represents the irreducibility of the real. The act of faith, however, comes along with the desire, making the Other happen into the language, shaping his face, figuring his reality whatever may be the inconsistency of this enterprise. So the theologian has to listen to what can be understood from the Other, in order that an ethical dimension can be given to human life.
