Résumé
Le succès du manga et de l’animation japonaise en France a contribué à la diffusion d’un certain nombre d’images du pays et de sa culture, et les fans ont bâti leur imaginaire du Japon dans ce contexte. Parmi ces éléments, les thèmes de l’amour, de la séduction et de la sexualité occupent une place importante, non seulement en tant que représentations exotiques lointaines s’appuyant sur les contenus, mais également à l’occasion de voyages au Japon. Les références établies au préalable à travers le manga et l’animation entretiennent donc un fantasme qui guide le désir de rencontre lors du séjour, avec une palette allant de la relation romantique à la multiplication des aventures sexuelles. Cette étude ethnographique s’intéresse à la manière dont ces images de l’érotisme et de l’amour influencent le vécu du séjour au Japon et la relation à ses habitants, le temps liminoïde des vacances et l’immersion dans un pays fantasmé et admiré renforçant le désir de l’Autre jusqu’à en faire un impératif du voyage.
