Abstracts
Résumé
Cet essai exploratoire vise à contribuer à la discussion sur l’apport du tourisme au développement des régions pauvres. À partir de statistiques officielles du Pérou et de données secondaires de l’Observatoire touristique du Pérou, nous analysons le cas du département de Cuzco, principale région touristique du pays. La présentation de données sur les tendances de la pauvreté à Cuzco et l’analyse de l’offre et de la demande de la formation en tourisme sont discutées en relation avec le caractère informel de l’économie du tourisme. L’examen de ces données à la lumière des postulats de la littérature « pro-pauvre » du tourisme met en question la promesse d’enrichissement des régions et de participation au marché du travail.
