Résumé
Cet article traite de l’élaboration d’une grille d’indicateurs de tourisme durable en présentant la stratégie adoptée par les régions de la Gaspésie et des Îles de la Madeleine, au Québec. Une première étape établit une liste d’indicateurs reconnus par les experts et couvrant systématiquement les dimensions du tourisme durable. Une deuxième étape permet de coordonner ces indicateurs à la politique-cadre de tourisme durable de chacune des régions, de façon à les rendre opérationnels sans en réduire la validité. Cette stratégie en deux étapes permet d’identifier une liste d’indicateurs de tourisme durable reconnus, mesurables et cohérents avec la politique touristique de chaque région. Une telle stratégie contribue ainsi à minimiser les risques d’instrumentalisation du concept de tourisme durable et à garantir la validité des démarches d’évaluation et de suivi en la matière.
