Résumé
Les archives du recueil Au bras des ombres, de Jacques Brault, témoignent des enjeux esthétiques qui sous-tendent l’écriture poétique. L’analyse génétique de quelques poèmes révèle le caractère artisanal du travail qui s’accompagne souvent d’une minutieuse réécriture qui tend notamment à installer une plus grande densité poétique. Par ailleurs, l’assemblage des poèmes et la composition du recueil, qui s’effectuent tardivement, permettent de saisir les principes qui fondent l’harmonie de l’ensemble.
Abstract
The archives of the collection Au bras des ombres [On the shadows’ arm], by Jacques Brault, testify to the aesthetic issues underlying poetic writings. The genetic analysis of a few poems reveals the artisanal character of the work, which is often accompanied by a meticulous re-writing that tends, notably, to create a greater poetic density. Moreover, the assembly of the poems and the composition of the collection, belatedly accomplished, make it possible to grasp the principles underlying the harmony of the whole.
