Résumé

L’objet livre face au numérique vient soulever des problématiques propres à la rencontre de deux médias. Les productions d’artistes abordant ces questions s’inscrivent dans un champ de tensions qui se développe entre livre imprimé, livre-objet plastique et livre dit numérique. Il s’agit ici de développer un « espace de conception » (design space), un cadre théorique de compréhension de ces nouvelles formes à partir d’un état de l’art et d’expérimentations réalisées durant un workshop. Ce processus itératif a rencontré différents champs de contraintes, à la fois techniques et plastiques, ayant porté d’une part sur les jeux et articulations entre les médias (texte, image, son, image animée) et d’autre part sur les modes d’exploration (ergonomie, interface, interaction). Abstract

When confronted to digital technology, the book object raises issues born of the association of two media. Artist productions addressing these issues dwell in a friction zone that is developing between print-books, plastic books and so-called digital books. The aim of this article is to develop a “design space”, a theoretical framework for understanding these new forms based both on a literature review and on experiments carried out during a workshop. This iterative process encountered technical and plastic constraints, as it focused on the one hand, on games and the way different media are articulated (text, image, sound, moving image), and, on the other hand, on possible modes of exploration (ergonomics, interface, nteraction).
