Roland Barthes : une sémiologie en attente

Résumé

Dans cet article inachevé, publié à titre posthume, Roland Le Huenen examine le parcours sémiologique de Roland Barthes. L’examen met en lumière la posture singulière de Barthes au sein du projet structuraliste, entre une visée promotionnelle s’appuyant sur les travaux de ses contemporains et une approche qui ne cesse de faire entorse à ce même projet. De cette double position émergera la notion de Texte et un rapport à la littérature plus éthique qu’esthétique.

Abstract

In this unfinished article, published posthumously, Roland Le Huenen examines the semiological writings of Roland Barthes in order to reveal their singular posture. On one hand Barthes promoted semiology and the writings of his contemporaries; on the other hand his work and the issues he raised constantly led him to extend or bend the very principles he defended. From this dual position emerged the notion of Text and a relation to literature that, in the end, was more ethical than aesthetic.
