Abstract
This article describes the first experiences of physical education teachers within the frame of action research. The first part presents the theoretical and methodological frame of reference for the analysis chosen. The second part describes both a synthesis and, based on a step-by-step analysis of a course, the general characteristics of three typical experiences which beginning teachers face : (a) indeterminate, b) contradictory, and c) exploratory. Finally, the authors discuss the interest of this process of examining typical experiences for developing models for initial teacher training.
