Résumé
Cet article s’inscrit dans une recherche plus vaste visant à consolider les bases méthodologiques de la sociologie de la traduction, tout en aménageant des points d’articulation entre celle-ci et la traductologie. Son objectif consiste à présenter les diverses difficultés d’ordre démographique, culturel, linguistique, esthétique et identitaire rencontrées dans le cadre d’un projet pilote, ainsi que les solutions retenues et quelques résultats préliminaires. Ce projet pilote portait sur les enjeux soulevés par la création et l’exploitation statistique d’une base de données de toutes les oeuvres de fiction anglo-québécoises traduites en français entre 1990 et 2013. Nous partions de l’hypothèse que les critères d’établissement et les variables retenus véhiculent une image tant des conditions sociales de production et de mise en circulation des traductions dans le contexte québécois contemporain que des rapports entre les communautés littéraires anglophone et francophone.

Abstract
This article is part of a larger study aiming to strengthen the methodological foundations of the sociology of translation, while developing links between this discipline and that of translation studies. Its objective is to present the various difficulties of a demographic, cultural, linguistic, aesthetic or identity-related nature encountered in the framework of a pilot project, as well as the selected solutions and some preliminary results. The pilot project focused on the issues raised by the creation and statistical analysis of a database of all Anglo-Quebec works of fiction translated into French between 1990 and 2013. We begin with the hypothesis that the criteria for establishment and the variables retained convey an image not only of the social conditions of the production and dissemination of translations in the contemporary Quebec context but also of the relationship between the anglophone and francophone literary communities.
