Résumé
Au carrefour de deux domaines de recherche : celui qui porte sur les minorités francophones au Canada et celui qui s'intéresse au milieu associatif et organisationnel, se posent bon nombre de questions : quel est le profil des leaders de la communauté ? quelle est leur attitude à l'égard du français ? quels sont les motifs de leur engagement ? quels sont les défis auxquels doivent faire face les organismes qu'ils dirigent après l'État-providence ? Une enquête auprès de 346 représentants d'organismes de la population francoontarienne permet d'éclairer ces questions.
Abstract
This article stands at the intersection between two areas of research, namely that which focuses on the French-speaking minorities in Canada, and that which studies the associative and organizational sector. At this crossroads, a number of questions arise: What is the profile of community leaders? What is their attitude toward the French language? What are the reasons that motivate their commitment? What are the challenges that must be faced by the organizations that they lead in the post-welfare State era? To find answers to thèse questions, we conducted a survey of 346 représentatives of organizations of the Franco-Ontarian population.
