Abstract
Youth protection workers are particularly vulnerable to compassion fatigue, a phenomenon that can affect their well-being and the quality of their interventions. In the face of this risk, supervision emerges as an essential tool for preventing its development by providing a space for support and reflection. Through semi-structured interviews conducted with nine youth protection workers in Quebec, this study explores the characteristics of supervision that prevent compassion fatigue. The thematic analysis identified characteristics of supervision, including interpersonal skills, listening skills and practical skills.
