Résumé

La nécessité pour l’enseignement supérieur africain d’adopter une pédagogie plus active, plus constructiviste et socioconstructiviste semble faire consensus. Or certaines spécificités du contexte éducatif africain comme les grands effectifs d’apprenants semblent faire obstacle à ce type de pédagogie. Aussi, des outils comme les boîtiers de vote électronique (BVE), susceptibles d’améliorer la participation des étudiants dans les cours magistraux constituent-ils une opportunité pour les universités surtout en contexte particulier africain. Si les BVE sont des facteurs d’interactivité de l’enseignement, favorisent-ils pour autant l’apprentissage ? Cette recherche de type quantitatif tente de comprendre les usages faits des BVE dans le contexte de 2IE et la perception des étudiants sur son efficacité pour l’apprentissage.

Abstract

The need for higher education in Africa to adopt a more active, constructivist and socioconstructivist pedagogy seems to be a consensus. However, certain specificities of the African educational context, such as the large numbers of learners, appear to be an obstacle to this type of pedagogy. Also, tools such as electronic voting boxes (VEBs), which are likely to improve student participation in lectures, offer an opportunity for universities, especially in a particular African context. If BVE are factors of interactivity in teaching, do they promote learning? This quantitative research tries to understand the uses made of BVE in the context of 2IE and the perception of students on its effectiveness for learning.
