Le féminisme et l’altermondialisation Feminism and Antiglobalization Movements

Résumé

Partant d’une certaine analogie entre la volonté du féminisme et de l’altermondialisme de faire de la politique autrement, ce texte aborde trois questions. D’abord, les convergences, portant principalement sur le rapport entre le personnel et le politique, le rapport entre les moyens et les fins et sur la temporalité politique. Ensuite, il est question de la difficile intégration des féministes et surtout du féminisme dans le mouvement altermondialiste, même si celui-ci est attentif à la place des femmes dans les rapports sociaux. Enfin, à partir de l’analyse de certains discours (ATTAC, Marche mondiale des femmes, féminisme postcolonial), il cherche à dégager les conditions d’une réelle intégration à l’altermondialisation du féminisme comme pensée et comme pratique critiques.

Summary

Taking as a starting point the shared will of the feminist and antiglobalization movements to do politics differently, this article is divided in three parts. First, it deals with the shared concerns of both movements : the relationship between the personal and the political, the relationship between ends and means in political action and the time frame of political activity. Second, it analyzes how the antiglobalization movement, although it takes into account the social locations of women, has problems integrating feminism into its analytical framework. Third, after a brief evaluation of some attempts to link feminism to antiglobalization, it delineates the conditions for a full integration of feminism, both as a theory an a practice, into the antiglobalization movement.
