L’année 2020 marque le 20^e anniversaire du dépôt du rapport Arpin sur le patrimoine au Québec qui proposait une définition intégrant le concept de patrimoine immatériel. Ce texte rend compte des réflexions menées au sein de la Société québécoise d’ethnologie, du ministère de la Culture et, plus précisément, de la genèse du concept d’économuséologie qui est expressément fondé sur la mise en valeur du patrimoine immatériel in situ.

Abstract

The year 2020 marks the 20^th anniversary of the Arpin Report on Québec heritage, which proposed a new definition embracing the notion of intangible culture. We deal here with the reflections expressed at that time by members of the Société québécoise d’ethnologie and the Québec Ministry of Culture, while commenting specifically on the birth of the notion of ethnomuseology, a concept that is closely tied to efforts to develop intangible culture in situ.
