Résumé
Les études sur la légitimité politique en Chine contemporaine sont désormais tombées sous l’empire de la philosophie politique et du positivisme juridique. Or, l’analyse de l’autorité gouvernementale chinoise demande de revisiter la pensée wébérienne afin de pouvoir faire sens des nouveaux modes de socialisation politique dans l’établissement de la légitimité politique. Sans rompre avec la scientificité de la sociologie compréhensive, les idéaux-types sociohistoriques de la domination liturgique et de la domination panoptique viennent ici réactualiser la sociologie politique en s’intéressant aux sens subjectifs donnés par des gouvernés dont les consentements sont maintenant mus par les impératifs d’ordonner le monde et de sécuriser la société.
Abstract
Studies on political legitimacy in China have recently fallen under the influence of political philosophy and legal positivism. However, analyzing Chinese politics requires to build on Max Weber’s sociological heritage in order to understand the complex dynamics of political legitimacy in contemporary China. Liturgical domination and panoptical domination are two new ideal types put forward by this analysis. Both these new analytical tools are extremely useful in shedding light on how individual consent could enable powerful forms of political domination to make sense of social life and to secure society.
