L’image du centre et la notion de l’un dans les Ennéades

Résumé

Analyse de la métaphore du centre dans les Ennéades en tant qu'elle renvoie à l'Un : le nom, les attributs, le rôle que celui-ci assume dans l'architecture du monde intelligible conçue par Plotin. On montrera, ce faisant, comment ce discours philosophique, en partant d'un platonisme pythagorisé, accomplit la figure de la philosophie antique en même temps qu'il libérera quelques-unes des innovations conceptuelles du modèle philosophique moderne en transformant le sens des notions de puissance, d'infini et de perfection.

Abstract

The following is an analysis of the significance of the metaphorical core in the Enneads through the concept of the One in this plotinian architecture of the intelligible universe. The philosophy of Plotinus recapitulates all the traditional conceptions of Greek philosophy but at the same time announces Modern philosophy by the transformation of the following ontological concepts: power, infinity and perfection.
