Résumé
Face à l’explosion des données linguistiques et aux usages numériques croissants des ressources lexicales, les descriptions traditionnelles des unités phraséologiques (UP) montrent leurs limites. Malgré le dynamisme actuel de la recherche, attesté par de nombreux colloques (e.g. AIUP à l’INALCO 2025, PHRASEOPRAG au Japon) et publications (e.g. Langages no 225, no 239), la structuration ontologique formelle des UP demeure largement sous-explorée. La phraséologie classique a permis d’en décrire les propriétés essentielles telles que le figement, l’idiomaticité (González Rey 2002 : 52) et la non-compositionnalité (M. Gross 1982 ; G. Gross 1996 ; Mejri 2011), et la phraséoculturologie (Chen 2022) a mis en évidence leur ancrage conceptuel et métaphorique, mais sans proposer de cadre formel exploitable dans le Web sémantique ou le TAL.
Cette étude propose une approche ontophraséologique, inspirée de l’ontoterminologie (Roche, 2012), conçue comme un cadre théorique de modélisation conceptuelle des UP. Celles-ci y sont envisagées comme des entités linguistiques autonomes, reliées à des concepts formalisés dans des graphes de connaissances (Chen 2025), afin d’articuler description linguistique, ingénierie des connaissances, TAL et intelligence artificielle.

Abstract
Faced with the explosion of linguistic data and the increasing digital use of lexical resources, traditional descriptions of phraseological units (PUs) are showing their limitations. Despite the current dynamism of research, evidenced by numerous conferences (e.g., AIUP at INALCO 2025, PHRASEOPRAG in Japan) and publications (e.g., Langages no. 225, no. 239), the formal ontological structuring of PUs remains largely underexplored. Classical phraseology has made it possible to describe their essential properties, such as fixedness, idiomaticity (González Rey 2002: 52), and non-compositionality (M. Gross 1982; G. Gross 1996; Mejri 2011), and phraseoculturology (Chen 2022) has highlighted their conceptual and metaphorical grounding, but without offering a formal framework usable in the Semantic Web or Natural Language Processing (NLP).
This study proposes an ontophraseological approach, inspired by ontoterminology (Roche, 2012), conceived as a theoretical framework for the conceptual modeling of PUs. These are considered autonomous linguistic entities, linked to concepts formalized in knowledge graphs (Chen 2025), in order to articulate linguistic description, knowledge engineering, NLP, and artificial intelligence.
