Résumé
Le non-recours au dispositif médical périnatal a rarement été examiné sous le prisme de la volonté intentionnelle de sortir de ce dispositif. Au Québec, nous ne détenons aucune donnée au sujet des femmes qui choisissent de vivre par choix des grossesses sans suivi et⸱ou des accouchements non assistés. Cet article a donc pour objectif de circonscrire, pour une première fois, leurs caractéristiques sociodémographiques et de santé (n=64) afin de les comparer à celles de la population générale. Nos résultats montrent que ce choix ne constitue pas un rejet en bloc du dispositif, comme nous pourrions a priori le penser.

Abstract
Non-taken-up of the perinatal medical system has rarely been examined through the prism of an intentional desire to opt out of this system. In Quebec, we have no data about women who choose to experience pregnancies without follow-up and⸱or unassisted childbirths by choice. The aim of this article is therefore to identify, for the first time, their sociodemographic and health characteristics (n=64) in order to compare them with those of the general population. Our results show that this choice does not constitute a complete rejection of the system, as we might a priori expect.
