  Newfoundlander who has taught at Memorial University, the University of Ottawa and most recently at the School of Canadian Studies at Carleton University. She is the author of Acts of Brief Authority: A Critical Assessment of Selected Twentieth-Century Newfoundland Novels and is currently working on her own first novel
