Résumé

L’impact de l’implication parentale sur la réussite scolaire est étudié depuis des décennies. Plusieurs recherches reconnaissent que le statut socioéconomique est également une variable importante en matière de réussite scolaire. Il est difficile d’identifier les retombées de ces recherches, qui présentent des différences sensibles au niveau de la méthodologie, des outils utilisés et des résultats produits. Les construits théoriques que sont l’implication parentale, la réussite scolaire ou encore le statut socioéconomique de la famille sont complexes. À travers une métasynthèse, il s’agit de dégager les liens que la recherche a pu établir entre implication parentale, statut socio-économique de la famille et de la réussite scolaire.

Abstract

The impact of parental involvement on academic success has been studied for decades. Several studies have recognized that socio-economic status is also an important variable in academic achievement. It is difficult to identify the impact of these studies, which show significant differences in the methodology, tools used, and results produced. The theoretical constructs of parental involvement, academic achievement, or the socio-economic status of the family are complex. Through a metasynthesis, the objective here is to identify the links that research could establish between parental involvement, socio-economic status, and academic success.

Enkeleda Arapi est stagiaire postdoctorale à l’Université de Montréal. Ses activités de recherche portent sur l’articulation de la relation enseignant-parent-élève, sur le développement de l’autonomie chez l’élève et sur l’adaptation des élèves en difficultés. Elle privilégie tout particulièrement l’étude de la relation entre le contexte éducatif et la réussite scolaire. Elle intervient aux différents niveaux de formation dans le Département d’études sur l’enseignement et l’apprentissage à l’Université Laval. enkeleda.arapi@fse.ulaval.ca

Pierre Pagé est professeur-chercheur en développement de l’enfant, retraité de l’Université Laval. Ses recherches s’intéressent aux liens entre les pratiques éducatives des parents et des enseignants, le développement sociocognitif des jeunes enfants et leur adaptation sociale et scolaire; l’élaboration et l’évaluation de programmes éducatifs visant le développement de ces différents éléments. pierre.page@fse.ulaval.ca

Christine Hamel est professeure agrégée au Département d’études sur l’enseignement et l’apprentissage de l’Université Laval. Biographical notes

Enkeleda Arapi is postdoctoral fellows at the Université de Montréal. Her research activities focus on the articulation of the teacher-parent-student relationship, the development of student autonomy and adaptation of pupils facing difficulties. She places a special emphasis on studying the relationship between the educational context and academic achievement. She is involved in various levels of training in the Département d’études sur l’enseignement et l’apprentissage at Université Laval. enkeleda.arapi@fse.ulaval.ca

Pierre Pagé is a professor-researcher in child development, retired from Université Laval. His research focuses on the links between educational practices of parents and teachers, the socio-cognitive development of young children and their social and academic adaptation; and the development and evaluation of educational programs aimed at the development of these different elements. pierre.page@fse.ulaval.ca

Christine Hamel is a professor at the Département d’études sur l’enseignement et l’apprentissage at the Université Laval. Her research focuses on the analysis of teacher activity in initial and continuing education, practical training in teaching and the use of video to support professional development. She is a regular researcher for the research and intervention center on academic and educational success (CRIRES). christine.hamel@fse.ulaval.ca
