Paratraduire l’imaginaire : approche méthodologique du sous-titrage espagnol des films ocelotiens

Résumé

Cet article présente une nouvelle perspective de l’utilisation pratique de la paratraduction comme outil méthodologique et est construit autour de trois axes principaux. Dans un premier temps, nous aborderons la notion de paratraduction et son rapport avec l’imaginaire, puis nous démontrerons l’importance de l’image et des liens intersémiotiques qui se tissent entre les éléments visuels, sonores, verbaux et filmiques dans le texte audiovisuel afin de construire le sens symbolique. Dans le cadre de la paratraduction, nous proposerons une approche méthodologique holistique du traitement de l’image à l’écran apte à rendre compte de la complexité sémiotique du message audiovisuel et du sens symbolique. Finalement, nous appliquerons cette analyse au sous-titrage espagnol d’un corpus de films d’animation.

Abstract

This paper presents a new perspective on the practical use of paratranslation as a methodological tool and is built around three main axes. First, we will discuss the notion of paratranslation and its links with the imaginary. Second, we will demonstrate the importance of the image and the inter-semiotic relationship between visual, sound, verbal and filmic elements in the audiovisual text for the construction of symbolic meaning. Within the framework of paratranslation, we will propose a holistic methodological approach to screen image processing capable of accounting for the semiotic complexity of the audiovisual message and symbolic meaning. Finally, we will apply this analysis to the Spanish subtitling of a corpus of animated films.

Resumen

El presente artículo ofrece una nueva perspectiva sobre la aplicación práctica de la paratraducción como herramienta metodológica y se articula en torno a tres ejes principales. En primer lugar, abordaremos la noción de paratraducción y sus vínculos con el imaginario. En segundo lugar, demostraremos la importancia de la imagen y la relacion intersemiótica que mantiene con los elementos visuales, sonoros, verbales y fílmicos del texto audiovisual para la construcción del sentido simbólico. En el marco de la paratraducción, propondremos un enfoque metodológico holístico del tratamiento de la imagen en pantalla capaz de abarcar la complejidad semiótica del mensaje audiovisual y del sentido simbólico. Por último, analizaremos los subtítulos en español de un corpus de películas de animación.
