Le problème des fluctuations climatiques récentes au Québec sera abordé de trois façons différentes, qui se complètent. Une étude des températures au Québec montre des fluctuations sans ordre autour d’une légère tendance à la hausse, plus nette dans la vallée du Saint-Laurent, avec un maximum autour de 1950. Ces variations sont partiellement planétaires, et de nombreux auteurs, notamment Budyko et Bryson, ont tenté de les expliquer à l’aide de modèles de bilan d’énergie, qui montrent l’effet climatique des changements des poussières, du CO² et des éruptions volcaniques. Ces théories climatiques deviennent de plus en plus connues, même en dehors des milieux scientifiques, et il semble que la perception des variations climatiques a davantage changé que le climat lui-même.

Abstract

The problem is approached in three separate, but complementary manners centring on a study of temperature regimes in Québec. These regimes indicate irregular fluctuations around a slight tendency upward, that is most evident in the St. Lawrence lowlands and that peaks around 1950. These variations are in part global and a number of authors, in particular Budyko and Bryson, have tried to account for them by means of energy budget models that indicate the climatic consequences of changes in the amount of dust and CO² present in the atmosphere, as well as of volcanic eruptions. These climatic theories are becoming better and better known, even outside the scientific community, and there is some indication that the perception of climatic change has increased even more than climate itself.

Zusammenfassung

Das Problem wird auf drei verschiedene, aber sich ergänzende Weisen angegangen. Ein Studium der Temperaturen in Québec zeigt ungeordnete Schwankungen, die eine schwache Tendenz zur Steigung haben, welche sich mehr im St Lorenzstrohmtal zeigt und deren Maximum bei 1950 liegt. Diese Veränderungen sind teilweise global und viele Autoren, besonders Budyko und Bryson, haben versucht sie mit Hilfe von Energie-Budget-Modellen zu erklären, welche die klimatische Wirkung der Veränderung im Staub, im C0² und den Vulkanausbruchen zeigen. Diese klimatischen Theorien werden jetzt immer besser gekannt, sogar ausserhalb der wissenschaftlichen Kreise, und es scheint, dass sich die Auffassung von Klimatischen Veränderungen mehr als das Klima selbst geändert haben.
