« Aïe, tu me fais mal ! » Ou la violence au quotidien

Résumé

Cet article, après avoir tenté de définir la violence, veut mettre en évidence les multiples atteintes à l’intégrité dont la personne âgée fait l’objet au quotidien; atteintes à l’intégrité ou violences dont l’effet à plus ou moins long terme est la destruction de l’identité, c’est-à-dire une certaine mort psychologique, affective, sexuelle, sociale, morale, spirituelle ou religieuse, dont la mort clinique n’est que l’inexorable issue.

Abstract

This article, after attempting to define violence, will expose the multiple injuries to the integrity of the elderly in day-to-day life. These injuries to integrity, or violence which, in the more or less long term, destroys identity – i.e., incurs a certain psychological, affective, social, sexual, social, moral, spiritual or religious death, where clinical death is nothing more than the ineluctable consequence.
