Résumé
Le projet d’une approche critique de la sécurité est devenu un domaine de recherche dynamique, donnant naissance à des sous-champs distincts tels que les études féministes de sécurité et les études critiques du terrorisme. Mais un nombre croissant de chercheurs critiques ont commencé à remettre en question les réalisations de ce programme de recherche au cours des dernières années. Ils soulignent la façon dont les discours critiques sur la sécurité prennent l’apparence d’une nouvelle orthodoxie et deviennent complices de la reproduction des rapports de pouvoir existants. D’autres vont plus loin encore et déclarent la « mort » des approches critiques de la sécurité. Dans cet article, je passe en revue ces débats émergents sur le goulot d’étranglement rencontré par les études critiques de la sécurité et je détaille les critiques concernant l’état actuel des études critiques de sécurité.

Abstract
Critical engagement with security has become a vibrant area of research, giving birth to distinct subfields such as Feminist Security Studies and Critical Terrorism Studies. However, a growing number of critical scholars have begun to question the achievements of this agenda in recent years. They point out how critical discourses on security take on the guise of a new orthodoxy and become complicit in the reproduction of existing power relations. Some go so far as to declare the « death » of critical security studies. In this article, I review these emergent debates on the bottleneck faced by critical security studies and elaborate on the critiques voiced about the current state of the field.

Resumen
El proyecto de un enfoque crítico de la seguridad ha probado ser un área de investigación dinámica, que dio lugar al surgimiento a diversos sub-campos tales como los estudios feministas en seguridad y los estudios críticos sobre el terrorismo. Sin embargo, en los últimos años un número creciente de investigadores ha comenzado a cuestionar las realizaciones de esa agenda de investigación. Se señala la manera en que el discurso crítico sobre la seguridad toma la apariencia de una nueva ortodoxia y se vuelve cómplice de la reproducción de las relaciones de poder existentes. Otros van incluso más lejos y declaran la « muerte » de los enfoques críticos sobre la seguridad. En este artículo, se pasa revista de tales debates sobre el estrangulamiento de los estudios críticos sobre la seguridad y se detalla las críticas referentes a su estado actual.
